SMART goals are a useful strategy for combating apathy because they help people set clear and achievable goals, preventing the demotivation that arises from trying to tackle large, unrealistic objectives.

Behavioral activation is a cognitive-behavioral therapy strategy used to combat apathy. It's based on the principle that the desire to engage in activities arises once you've begun.

Negative symptoms

Apathy in psychosis is linked to alterations in the brain's dopaminergic circuits, which manage motivation and behaviors aimed at obtaining rewards or avoiding punishments.
